Andrea is joined the Huron Women's Swim & Dive Team Staff as the Head Coach in 2013. She grew up in Queens, New York, where she swam for club swim teams for 16 years. While in high school, she was a state qualifier and was the school record holder in the 100 Fly. In 2001, she also placed Top-10 in the nation in the 200 Fly for USA Swimming. After high school she attended Eastern Michigan University, where she swam for 4 years as a distance swimmer and 200 flyer. She was a Captain of the Swim Team, and a member of the first Eastern Women's Swim Team to win a MAC Conference Championship.
She has coached at Livonia Community Swim Club (4 years), OHAC Summer League Team (2 years), and the Ypsilanti High School Girl's Team (2 years). She coaches at Ann Arbor Huron High School as the Men's Assistant Coach during the high school winter season and at Dexter Community Aquatic Club (DCAC) during the summer season. |
Jennifer Zakrajsek
Assistant Coach Jennifer (JZ) Zakrajsek has been the Assistant Coach for the Women's Swim Team at Huron High School since 2001. She has a BS in Movement Science from the University of Michigan (1993), a MS in Exercise Science from the University of Arizona (1996), and a MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan (1999). She is a Senior Research Associate in the Young Driver Behavior and Injury Prevention Group at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute where she has been employed since 1999.
During her swimming career, Jennifer's strongest events were breaststroke and IM. As an age group swimmer, Jennifer swam for the Clarenceville Cohoes (Livonia, MI), the Mission Viejo Nadadores (Mission Viejo, CA), and the Naperville YMCA (Naperville, IL) where she was an Honorable Mention YMCA All-American. Jennifer began her high school career at Mission Viejo High School where she was a member of the 1986 National Championship team and she graduated from Naperville Central High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and of the Illinois All-State Swim Team. While at the University of Michigan, she was an All-Big Ten Academic honoree, a member of four Big Ten Championship teams, a Big Ten Championship finalist in the 200 breaststroke and a captain of the 1992-1993 team. |
Claire Bauer dove competitively for 12 years at Legacy Diving. She competed at 10 different age group and junior national competitions. Claire dove for and graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. She has coached for 6 summers in the WISC league. Claire is currently coaching at Wolverine Diving and is in her second year of coaching high school diving. This is Claire's first year coaching at Ann Arbor Huron High School.
